Staying In The Philippines For The Holidays

When I was still a child, I lived in a small town in the Province of Iloilo, Philippines. My family was not well off. In fact, I had to work my way to college. My cousein wanted me to take up Nursing because of the vast work opportunities. When I graduated, I worked one more year to be able to save enough money for the licensure exams.

When I was finally able to take it, I passed. I had plans for my family: building my mother and siblings a house, so I had to find work abroad. They had no one to depend on but me. So after a couple of years of volunteer work in the hospital, I applied for a job in Dubai.

In Dubai, I worked for 2 years. There, I met a nurse who became my husband. I applied for a vacation 6 months before my 2nd year, and when it was granted, I immediately took the chance. I was craving for the food, the scent of skewered bananas in the streets, and roasted pork, or “lechon.”

My trip to the Philippines was only for a 3 weeks. My husband was also granted a vacation, so I had to take him along. 3 months before my vacation, I went online and booked my flight. The airline was having a promo so I was able to get my ticket with 305 discount.

Since our house is crowded no, my husband and I had to stay in a hotel. Some of my brothers were already married and their wives stayed in our house. So there is no more room for us in the house. So I went online and got a booking at a middle class hotel in our locality.

Hotels in Iloilo are inexpensive and you get more for the price you actually pay. I was trembling when we finally boarded the plane on thre way to the Philippines. I was finally going to see my mother who is already 62 years old. I will give her a warm embrace and whisper to her ear that I am now going to start the construction of the house she always wanted.

Planning to go back to the Philippines? Book your hotels online and get discounts if you book a month before your stay.Click here for more info on hotel.
